Rick Marsi is our small business member feature this month. Rick, a noted naturalist, syndicated columnist and author has recently completed his latest work, “Bridge to Borovichi“. This book strays from the wildlife/nature subject matter of two of his previous books, and explores life in Borovichi, Russia (Binghamton’s sister city)during the time period immediately following the the end of Commuism.
Rick was able to catpure a rare glimpse of a country going through a unique and difficult transistion. Rick made a dozen trips to Borovichi from 1991 through 2003, developing deep friendships and a keen sense of what their lives wer like. The book is extremly well written and should be a must read for any Binghamton citizen. Â
Rick has written three other books, “Once Around the Sun”, “Wheel of Seasons” and “A Doctor’s Life”. The first two are a collaboration of Rick’s nature & wildlife columns, the third a memoir of the Life of Dr. Israel Rosefsky.
