Our pros have the ability to work with players of all levels, and are available for both private and group lessons. We run extensive summer camps for both adults and juniors. Michael Starke – Owner Manager Michael has been operating the Binghamton Tennis Center since 1983. During the past 25 years, he has been a leader in the tennis community, forming the Triple Cities Tennis Association, bringing the Levene Gouldin & Thompson $50,000 Men’s Tennis Challenger to Binghamton and coaching the Binghamton University Men’s Tennis Team from 1987-2006. He has been involved in the growth and development of the local USTA adult leagues and has conducted numerous free tennis clinics and seminars.

Michael oversees the day to day operations as well as teach private and group lessons. His enthusiasm, knowledge and passion for tennis helps lead BTC in the right direction.

Billy Mendler – Head Pro
In his 14th year here at BTC, Billy oversees our Sunday JCTP and summer adult camp. Billy’s likable personality, teaching and playing ability make him a favorite among both juniors and adults. Billy has an extensive playing background that includes playing #1 singles for Kings College where he qualified for the Division 111 NCAA tournament. His pro career includes being a 10 time participant in the $50,000 Binghamton Professional Tennis Tournament and holding 3 ATP points. Needless to say, Billy is the best player in our area. Bill lives in Towanda Pa, where he resides with his wife Heather, and  daughter Megan.

Collin Crawford – Director of Junior Development
In his 11th year at BTC, Collin has made a tremendous impact on our junior programs, spearheading our Saturday JCTP as well as our junior Travel Team and ladders. Collin’s elementary teaching background and thirst for learning the latest in techniques and drills makes him a great fit for our aspiring stars of tomorrow. Collin is our innovative leader. Collin also competes in local and regional tournaments and was a member of the 4.5 USA 2004 men’s team that went to nationals!

Libby McGovern – Junior Tournament Director/Saturday JCTP & Summer Tennis Camp Director/Teaching Pro
In her 6th year at BTC, Libby has been an extremely valuable addition. Great with adults and juniors alike, her cheery personality and in depth understanding of the game makes Libby a great all around pro. A superb player in her own right, Libby graduated from Ball State Cum Laude, where she played # 1 singles and doubles for 4 years! Her previous work experience at the PeachTree Racquet Club in Richmond, Va has helped Libby bring new ideas and energy to BTC! Libby resides in Endicott with her husband Brian, Kevin, and Mickey.

Jordan Smith – Teaching Pro We welcome Jordan aboard as our latest full time pro as of March 2008. Jordan brings a great combination of knowlege, youthful enthusiasm and serious playing credentials to the table. Jordan’s likeable personality and easy going demeanor is already gaining him a steady following.

 

Bob Devente – Teaching Pro
In his 14th year at BTC, Bob brings equal amount of experience and energy to liven up lessons and staff alike. USPTR certified, Bob is exceptionally great with our young kids because of his boundless energy and youth type approach. Bob teaches private lessons and is a key component in our summer camps and Sat JCTP. Bob resides in  Binghamton with his wife Kris. From time to time, his kids and their kids come to visit.

Clark Crawford – Official Stringer – Teaching Pro

A popular teaching pro , Clark’s jovial personality and passion for tennis keeps his lessons fun yet informative. Clark assists Libby with our Saturday JCTP as well as our summer morning camp.

As the BTC stringer, Clark as strung thousands of tennis racquets, taking in your game style and the lastest on stringing technology to deliver a custom strung perfect playing racquet.
